Get answers to common questions about Chin Waxing.
Most clients enjoy smoothness for two to six weeks, depending on individual hair growth and hormonal factors. Regular waxing can slow regrowth and weaken follicles over time. Aftercare and avoiding exfoliation for 24 hours help maintain results and reduce irritation.
Some mild, brief discomfort is normal as hair is removed from the root, but sensations subside quickly. Our estheticians use warm wax, skilled techniques, and calming measures to minimize pain. Topical numbing creams are available on request for extra sensitivity.
Ensure hair is about quarter-inch long so the wax can grip properly. Gently exfoliate two to three days beforehand, avoid retinoids or chemical peels for a week, and skip heavy creams or caffeine on the day to reduce sensitivity.
Keep the area clean and avoid touching for the first twenty-four hours. Skip heavy makeup, hot showers, saunas, and intense exercise to prevent irritation. Apply a calming, alcohol-free lotion or aloe, and wait two days before gently exfoliating.
Ingrown hairs can occur but are preventable. Regular gentle exfoliation, hydration with non-comedogenic moisturizers, and avoiding picking reduce risk. Use products with salicylic acid or glycolic acid after initial healing if needed. Regular professional waxing also helps minimize ingrown hairs over time.
Chin waxing isn't recommended for those with sunburned, irritated, or actively infected skin, recent chemical peels, or while using isotretinoin within the past six to twelve months. If you're on blood thinners, pregnant, or have severe skin conditions, consult your doctor or our technician before booking.
